In this class, we will go over what gun and gear is ideal (or not recommended) for the Shooting Sports.

Whether you just want a convenient Range Setup, are shooting Steel, or getting into USPSA or IDPA- this is your first step!

Once we cover the ins and outs of your gear, we will go through a series of drills including presentation of guns from low ready, or from “rigs” if appropriate. This will build into the next part of the series, and spots are limited!

Bring Your Eyes and Ears, Pistol, and ANY gear you may use for range or competition. And don’t worry if you’re lacking gear or unsure what to get- we will cover what you will need to get/bring going forward… Just bring your gun and an open mind!

Equipment: 150 rounds, handgun, 3 magazines, appropriate range attire/gear/protective equipment.

In this part of our build, we will cover a series of drills focusing on efficiently presenting your firearm, whether from low ready or your new belt rig. Once we can get on target in an efficient manor, we will focus on Grip and Trigger Control, magazine changes, malfunction clearance, and target transitions. This is the most important building block for your shooting going forward once we set up your gear correctly!

Part 3 of our build is where the Rubber meets the Road, so to speak. In this class we will utilize the skills built in our first 2 classes, and shoot a series of drills and targets for metrics and some times/scores. Using multiple presentations, transitions, and reloads- This is how Sam really changes or upgrades how you not only shoot but THINK….you will turn the conscious act of shooting, into subconscious skillset you can use in an instant. Through a simple yet focused series of drills, we will test the skills we have built on a timer for the purpose of DATA- not speed- and to set some personal goals as a shooter.

“The final” Part four of this build will leave you with all the skills necessary to complete in any kind of class or competition in the world of handguns. In this portion of our build, we will further build on the skills from the previous 3 parts and add in a VITAL aspect- movement. But we’re not talking about just running around shooting… rather learning when and how to leave and enter positions, moving up and down range safely and efficiently, and how to move around a 3D range within rules of competition. This takes the skills you learned stationary, and applies them to WHEREVER you may physically need them. After Part 4 of our Skill Build, you will be ready to shoot our finale….a USPSA classifier match!!
