Retired Police Officer Qualifications

Federal (H.R. 218) and NJ State law permits Retired Police Officers to carry firearms. The Tactical Training Center provides qualification courses to retired law enforcement officers with an opportunity to fulfill the requirements of those permits. The NJ RPO program now requires Use of Force training and the completion of the Handgun Qualification Course day and Handgun Night Qualification Course. Retired police officers in New Jersey may elect to either follow the H.R. 218 Federal guidelines or follow the NJSP administered Retired Police Officer program. Please bring the firearms you would wish to qualify with, 100 rounds of ammo per firearm and a flashlight of firearm mounted flashlight.
