GUN SAFETY TRAINING FOR YOUTHS
The Tactical Training Center is a trusted resource for firearms, supplies, accessories and range training for gun enthusiasts of all ages. To promote proper firearm use and gun safety, we have our Firearms Youth Academies. These week long training classes teach your teen best practices for safe firearms handling, understanding, operation, and marksmanship. Additionally most days will end with team-building activities in our unique “Laser Combat” facility.
These courses are available to teens aged 13-17. Your teen will learn the best practices for firearms use and success. All firearms and range supplies will be made available by the TTC.
There are two types of Firearms Youth Academy courses available to your teen- the Basic Firearms Academy and Advanced Firearms Academy.
THE FIREARMS YOUTH ACADEMY-BASIC
All academy classes run Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The Basic Firearms Academy is a fun and interactive program designed to teach your child the basics of firearm function and safety. Students will learn the basic parts of a firearm (rifle and handgun), bullet components, loading, unloading, sighting, and the development of basic shooter skills from a variety of positions. Live range time will include marksmanship instruction and individual coaching by our experienced instructors. The Basic Youth Academy utilizes .22 rim-fire rifles and handguns as the primary firearms. Students may have the opportunity to be introduced to a larger caliber, center firing handgun as the week progresses. Finally, each day ends with time spent in the TTC “Laser Combat” facility as the students work on developing teamwork, decision-making and basic “firearm” handling while moving through our laser training area.
Included with the fee is classroom and range instruction, firearms, ammunition, eye and hearing protection, live fire activities and admittance to the TTC laser combat facility.
Shooters and their parents/ guardians must complete standard range waivers and juvenile shooter waivers prior to the start of the course.

THE FIREARMS YOUTH ACADEMY-ADVANCED
All academy classes run Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The fun and learning continues as the Advanced Firearms Academy picks up where the Basic Academy ends. Students will continue to develop both their understanding of firearms function as well as further refine their marksmanship abilities. Students will utilize larger caliber handguns (9mm), develop greater operational skills and utilize specialized targets and drills with a little bit of competition to test those skills. Finally, each day will end with time spent in the “Laser Combat” facility developing teamwork, decision-making and movement as stated goals are presented and achieved.
Included with the fee is classroom and range instruction, firearms, ammunition, eye and hearing protection, live fire activities and admittance to the TTC laser combat facility.
Shooters and their parents/ guardians must complete standard range waivers and juvenile shooter waivers prior to the start of the course.
Students must have successfully completed the Basic Firearms Academy before enrolling in the Advanced Academy.
